Op 1 september kregen we dit bericht van Prajwal en Debbie. Zij zijn de oprichters van New Leaf house maar ik ken hen al meer dan 20 jaar als bevlogen en kundige gemeentestichters/ sociale werkers met een groot netwerk: 

 

"I am getting more and more devastating news of the flooding in Nepal. Many churches have been swept away and destroyed. Many believers have lost their lives. They have nothing left to eat. 

 

My main pastor finally got in contact with 2 pastors there who have lost everything. One pastor whose name is Bead Bahadur said his small daughter had gone to school and was swept away hasn’t been found. His 5 believers were swept away and they are gone. So heart wrenching. There are other churches who have lost some 20 believers some 25 believers.

 

I am sending my main pastor Sanjit with 4 other pastors to take rice, lentils, sugar, salt and oil to save lives for people who are alive who have nothing to eat. We will have to buy them even stove and gas tank because they don’t have anything to cook in. We also want to buy them chickens and pigs so they can start to make a living. Also tarp like tents if they have lost homes so they can have roof over their head. 

 Our team will travel 12 hours to Kathmandu and then another 8-10 hours to reach the place.

 We will help the believers because even if the government gives help, which will take a long time, Christians may be the last in line. But we will also help all people around them. Will also be sharing hope in Christ. 

 

Would you and your organization and your church community be able to help and give as the Lord leads. Need is too great. We could use lot more. Send it to the same bank in Nepal. 

Our pastors will distribute sacks of food with their own hands so everything will go to the needy once. They have experience from helping in 2015 earthquake in Nepal.
